In this Fernandina Beach accident a man, age 46, was the driver of a vehicle involved in the crash. Unfortunately, the victim was not wearing a seatbelt. The vehicle did have air bags installed, but there was not an air bag available at the victim's seat. Each year more than 17,000 people are involved in accidents involving drivers that have been driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. This deadly crash was no exception, as the police found that alcohol or drugs were a factor. The victim was taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.
