Major Highways in Alabama Include: I10, I20, I59, I65, I85

Interstate 10: Interstate 10 is the most southern interstate highway in the United States.  Its eastern terminus is at Interstate 95 in Jacksonville, Florida; its western terminus is in Santa Monica, California at US Highway 1.  Interstate 10 runs 67 miles through Alabama, intersecting with Interstate 65 in the city of Mobile.

Interstate 20: Interstate 20 is located in the southeastern United States, running from Kent, Texas at Interstate 10 to Florence, South Carolina at Interstate 95.  214 miles of the highway extend through Alabama, intersecting with Interstates 59 and 65 in Birmingham.  It also runs through the major city of Tuscaloosa.

Interstate 59: Interstate 59’s southern terminus is in Alton, Louisiana, intersecting with Interstate 10.  The northern terminus is at Lookout Mountain, Georgia at an intersection with Interstate 24.  241 miles run through Alabama, where it intersects with Interstate 65 in Birmingham.  There are three spur routes from the Highway, Tuscaloosa, Al at I359, Birmingham at I459 and Gadsen, A: at I759.

Interstate 65: Interstate 65 begins at the intersection with Interstate 10 in Mobile, Alabama.  Its northern terminus is in Gary, Indiana, intersecting with Interstate 90.  It runs 367 miles through Alabama, going through the major cities of Mobile, Montgomery, Birmingham and Huntsville. It intersects with Interstate 84 in Montgomery and Interstates 20 and 59 in Birmingham.

Interstate 85: The southern terminus of Interstate 85 is in Mongtomery, AL, intersecting Interstate 65. The northern terminus is in Petersburg, Virginia, at Interstate 95. It extends 80 miles through Alabama, passing through the major city of Auburn, as well as Montgomery.
