Albany, New York, the historic capital city, is on the western bank of the Hudson River in Albany County. Albany is literally at the crossroads of I-87 and I-90, creating a junction between Buffalo and Boston, and Montreal and New York. Albany has a number of significant distribution businesses, and technology companies Fujitsu and Pitney-Bowes each have distribution facilities in Albany. Albany is known as a center of higher education and is home to SUNY Albany (the flagship campus of the State University of New York), the College of Saint Rose, Excelsior College, Maria College, Mildred Elley, and Sage College of Albany. Other major employers in Albany, NY are state government and health care services.
