Family, friends to walk in honor
of bus crash victim
Associated Press
"STEVENS POINT, Wis. - Dave Senft Sr. warned his
14-year-old son that walking 26 miles would be a long trek,
but the boy was undeterred.
"Bring it on," David Senft Jr. told his father.
Less than a week later, the boy was killed and five
others severely injured when a tractor-trailer plowed into
the back of their stopped school bus on a rural highway in
March.
The elder Senft, of Bancroft, and others are planning to
participate in Walk Wisconsin next Saturday in David's
honor.
Up to 100 students, friends, co-workers and members of
the Plainfield, Almond and Bancroft communities will join
Senft, his wife and other son in leading the walk.
"This is therapy for me," Senft said this past weekend
after training with his brother-in-law William Quintanilla,
who committed to the walk just before David died."
