Interstate 4: I-4 is the lowest-numbered Interstate Highway in the continental US. A meager 132 miles, I-4 is an in-state Interstate as it starts and ends in the State of Florida. Beginning at the junction of I-275 in Tampa, it travels diagonally north–east and meets up with the Country’s best known roadway, I-95 in Daytona Beach. Locally designated as Florida State Road 400, you will only find that designation on a short three-mile stretch of I-4 at the eastern end near the intersection of I-4 with U.S. Route 1 in Daytona.

As the I-4 freeway connects all three cities of Tampa, Orlando and Daytona Beach and due to the ease of commerce created by the proximity of Interstate 4, this area is commonly known as the I-4 Corridor and is promoted that way by local Chambers of Commerce and other business promotional organizations. This I-4 Corridor serves the cities of DeLand, Sanford, Winter Park, Lakeland and Plant City in addition to the three major metropolitan areas. The fierce rivalry between the Tampa Bay Storm and Orlando Predators Arena Football League teams has been called as the War on I-4.
