House burns after tractor-trailer leaves highway

By kten.com
Associated Press

"BEEBE, Ark. No one was seriously injured when a flaming tractor-trailer drifted off an Arkansas expressway in the middle of the night and slammed into a home --- setting it on fire.

Rick and Edna Fisher were asleep in their home near U.S. 67-167 early yesterday when a tractor-trailer driven by 70-year-old Verlin Dean Boldry, of Cleburne, Texas, left the highway. Boldry and his wife Judith suffered minor injuries when the truck hit the Fishers' carport.

Police said Boldry's truck collided with another 18-wheeler in the northbound lane and careened off the highway. The right front tire on Boldry's truck caught fire in the wreck and ignited a fuel tank as the truck left the highway and approached the Fisher home."
