Accident shuts down Main street
By Casey Lyons/ Staff Writer
"A minivan vs. tractor trailer accident Monday closed a portion of Main Street for eight hours as emergency crews worked to extract a motorist from a mangled van and cleanup diesel fuel from a ruptured fuel tank.
In an instant, the minivan, which was carrying three children as well as the driver was reduced to wreckage, and only by luck were injuries not more serious.
"The people in the van were very lucky, very fortunate," said Fire Chief Ken Willette. "This could have been a much more serious accident."
