Overturned Tractor Trailers Cause Major Gridlock
By wjz.com
"(WJZ) BALTIMORE WJZ.com has learned two separate accidents have occurred in the Baltimore region involving overturned tractor trailers.
The first occurred about 5 p.m. when a truck lost control and rolled down an embankment on I-895 at I-695. The driver was airlifted to Shock Trauma with serious injuries. His condition is not known at this time.
That backup caused major delays as the entire outer-loop was closed and one lane of the inner-loop was blocked. Traffic was backed up for mile on both the inner- and outer-loop.
Another accident occurred about an hour later when another tractor trailer overturned on I-195 at Washington Blvd. Police believe the driver of that truck may have been coming around the bend too fast causing the truck to turn.
There is no word on the condition of the driver in that accident, however the injuries are being reported as minor.
WJZ.com will continue to monitor these developing stories and provide new information when it becomes available."
