Tractor Trailer Rolls Over

By Southcoasttoday.com

"ROCHESTER — A tractor-trailer truck driven by Edward Poitras, 37, of Bank Street, Fall River, left Mary's Pond Road and rolled into the woods around 3 p.m. Thursday.
Rochester police reported receiving several 911 calls about the accident, and called a hazardous waste team to clean up leaking fuel and oil from the truck.
Mr. Poitras suffered minor injuries. The truck was hauling a full load of sand. Much of the sand had to be removed by hand before the vehicle could be hauled from the swampy, wooded area. It took workers nearly 41/2 hours to remove the truck, which was stuck in deep mud, and then clean up the site.
Mary's Pond Road was closed to traffic until 7:30 p.m. and was closed again at 10 a.m. yesterday as the cleanup resumed. The Department of Environmental Protection responded to address fuel and oil leaking from the truck.
The accident is being investigated by Officer Robert Small of the Rochester police, as well as the state police accident reconstruction team.
