Wreck rolls GMC Jimmy
Tractor-trailer driver charged in collision
By
Joel Banner Baird
"GREENVILLE — Lyle Sweet of Greenville,
one of five victims in an auto crash early Wednesday afternoon, was
being treated for brain injuries at U.Va., said his son, also named
Lyle Sweet.
The younger Sweet said that his niece, Peyton Bolt, 4, underwent
surgery late Wednesday afternoon to relieve pressure against her
brain caused by a fractured skull. Doctors at the University of
Virginia Medical Center found no evidence of brain injury to the
girl, he added.
Police charged truck driver Andrew Simmons of Parkersburg Turnpike
with reckless driving in the collision of his tractor-trailer with a
GMC Jimmy on U.S. 11 at the Interstate 81 interchange."
