Tractor Trailer Jacknifes, Snarles I-64 Traffic

By Dailypress.com

"State police closed the left lane of eastbound Interstate 64 for six hours between the Busch Gardens and Lee Hall exits after a tractor-trailer jackknifed Monday.

The accident, just east of Busch Gardens, happened at 1:30 p.m. Rush-hour traffic backed up more than 10 miles while officials worked to clear the scene, state police Trooper M.L. Schatzel said.

Schatzel said the tractor-trailer was heading west on Interstate 64 when it clipped the rear of another tractor-trailer, turned into the median and came to rest in the left eastbound lane.

The driver appeared to suffer injuries that weren't life-threatening, Schatzel said. It wasn't clear whether anyone else had been injured."
