National Board of Trial Advocates
Six Munley, Munley & Cartwright trial attorneys - Robert W. Munley, Marion Munley, Matthew A. Cartwright, J. Christopher Munley, Daniel W. Munley and Julia K. Munley - have been Board Certified in Civil Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.

The National Board of Trial Advocacy (NBTA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to bettering the quality of trial advocacy in our nation's courtrooms and assisting the public in finding experienced and highly qualified trial lawyers.

In order to become a member of this elite group of trial attorneys, an attorney must undergo an exhaustive screening of his or her credentials, including documentation of legal experience, judicial and peer references, as well as a daylong exam. The attorney's ethical standards are also examined by the Standards Committee of the NBTA. A candidate's willingness to undergo this process illustrates a dedication to achieving and maintaining a high standard of practice.

A consumer of legal services who chooses an NBTA member can be sure of obtaining a highly experienced trial law practitioner.

American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA)
Attorneys Matthew A. Cartwright and Marion Munley are both Associates of the American Board of Trial Advocates. Robert W. Munley is an Advocate of the American Board of Trial Advocates.

Membership is by nomination and election only. Members must display civility and professional integrity and have completed a minimum of at least 20 trials to jury verdict.

The organization's mission is to foster improvement in the ethical and technical standards of practice in the field of trial advocacy, providing more effective representation to individual litigants and benefitting the general public by the more efficient administration of justice consistent with time-tested and traditional principles of litigation. The ABOTA has chapters throughout the country, including Northeastern Pennsylvania, Eastern Pennsylvania and Western Pennsylvania.
