UPS Ground Freight (known as UPS Freight) provides less-than-truckload (LTL) and truckload freight transportation services throughout North America. (LTL carriers consolidate freight from multiple shippers in a single truckload.) It didn't happen overnight, but the tractors and trailers of the former "Overnite" have taken on a familiar shade of Brown. UPS Freight operates a fleet of about 6,800 tractors and 22,800 trailers from a network of more than 210 terminals. In addition to for-hire LTL and truckload freight services, UPS Freight offers dedicated contract carriage, in which drivers and equipment are assigned to a customer long-term. The company is a subsidiary of package delivery giant UPS.
